Wiltshire-based Biotechnology business Advetec has appointed a customer success director as the company seeks to strengthen client relationships, drive value and pursue further growth.
Will Garrard joins Advetec from KEW Technology, a developer of sustainable energy systems, where he was the operations director.
Born in Italy and educated in the UK, Will has held several senior management and operational roles in technology growth businesses throughout his career. He has a track record of improving operations, service, and delivery in the waste processing, engineering, construction, and clean-tech sectors across Europe and the Americas.
In his new role, Will is charged with helping Advetec ensure customer success is central to everything Advetec does whilst aligning with business goals and scaling its products, services and reach.
Advetec’s client portfolio includes businesses in the waste and local authority sectors, including Coastal Recycling, Go 4 Greener, JWitt Waste Recycling and Max Recycle, and its newest addition, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Council in Scotland.
Advetec’s biotechnology stabilises, reduces, and repurposes non-recyclable waste that would otherwise be sent to landfill or for incineration by turning it into an alternative fuel, called Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF). It presents a highly sought-after and cost-friendly solution in the face of rising landfill costs and the inclusion of Energy from Waste into the Emissions Trading Scheme.
Chief Executive Officer of Advetec, Lee Knott, said:
“Will is a huge advocate for value and quality as defined by the customer, and he recognises the need to put the customer firmly at the core of everything we do. He shares our commitment to nurture relationships and add value as customers’ needs evolve, and we’re delighted to welcome him to our team.”
Will Garrard, Advetec’s new Customer Success Director, said:
“Advetec is an incredibly innovative and exciting business, which has already made great strides in presenting biotechnology as a simple, accessible and cost-effective way to turn waste once deemed worthless into a commodity. My focus for the next few months will be to build on the excellent foundations already in place.”
In his spare time, Will is a trustee of an education trust and helps to run Minchinhampton Rugby Club and Hales Grove, a sustainable woodland project. He lives near Stroud with his wife and children.
