Fresh produce supplier A.H. Worth has announced it will hire a fleet of 24 state-of-the-art tractors from local agricultural equipment supplier Ernest Doe, to drive efficiency on its local farms.
Featuring full telematics and geo location software, the new machinery will enable A.H. Worth to track vitals, including the location of each tractor and its progress on jobs. This will in turn allow the company to reduce idling time by 5-10% and minimise fuel usage. The 12-month deal, which has the potential to extend to three years, will also feature Ernest Doe’s trademark full support service – providing the service facilities and expertise to keep the tractors running smoothly.
Established in 1895, Spalding-based A. H. Worth produces a variety of vegetables including kale and cavolo nero for national retail, foodservice, wholesale and food manufacturing customers - with a significant portion of its material produced locally by its farms. The company is proud to partner with similarly long-established local family firm Ernest Doe, with branches in Sutterton and North Kyme.
As Alex Worth, Farm Manager (WFP) and fifth generation family member, A.H. Worth says;
“Innovation and efficiency are centre to our values here at A.H. Worth and the new state-of-the-art tractors from Ernest Doe will help drive our efforts in these spaces forward.
The new tractors will give our team the tools they need to work efficiently and effectively – cultivating the quality fresh produce our customers have come to enjoy and expect and we are proud to be partnering with a local firm on this initiative.”
Tom Clark, Ernest Doe’s Sutterton Branch Manager, said;
“At Ernest Doe we are proud to supply our customers with the very best in agricultural machinery and look forward to supporting A.H. Worth in their ongoing drive for efficiency and quality for their customers”.
To coincide with the introduction of the tractors, A.H. Worth has launched a Tractor Driver of the Month award, judged on care and teamwork, as well as results.
