A leading classic car restorer from Coventry has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards celebrating the best of manufacturing in the Midlands.

Clayton Classics is in contention for both the Manufacturing Innovation Award and the Automotive, Aerospace & Rail Award in the Insider Made in the Midlands Awards 2025.

Clayton Classics, which was recognised for its innovation in developing bespoke heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for classic cars, will discover if it has won one, or both, of the awards at the ceremony in Birmingham on Wednesday 9th April.

It is the first time the internationally renowned restoration specialist has entered the awards, which celebrate the most innovative and dynamic manufacturers in the UK’s industrial heartland.

Dean Allsop, director at Clayton Classics, said:

“We are so pleased that Clayton Classics has been shortlisted for two categories. We will be up against tough competition from other businesses, who are representing the pinnacle of manufacturing from across the region, and it will be a pleasure to meet our fellow contenders.”

Clayton has been a leader in technical innovation for vehicle heating systems for over 100 years and launched the Clayton Classics arm of the business in 2002.

Its team of classic car experts and restoration specialists has built a strong reputation around the world for complete restorations, repairs and servicing, as well as its bespoke climate control upgrades, for Jaguar E-Types and famous classic marques including Aston Martin, Daimler, Triumph and Porsche, to name just a few.

Dean added:

“Our shortlist is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Clayton Classics, who put so much care and effort into every classic they work on.

“To be recognised for our heating and air conditioning systems upgrades is a great honour, not only due to our history in climate control systems, but also as we are so proud to offer this service that means more owners can enjoy their classic car in comfort all year round, no matter the weather.”
