Residents and businesses in Birmingham now have even more access to mobility on demand following a major investment and expansion programme in the city from Enterprise Car Club.
The company, part of the UK’s largest vehicle rental company, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, is more than doubling the number of hourly-rental vehicles based in the city, from six to 15. This means that even more people will be able to access a car or a van when they really need one – and for as long as they need it.
The new vehicles are being stationed all around central Birmingham. Two are near the Broadway property development at Fiveways, providing on-site mobility for residents in a location where parking for private cars is at a premium.
Another is at the University of Birmingham, in the designated Green Travel District between the train station and hospital, providing further mobility choices for students as well as for local residents and businesses.
In addition, three of the cars will be based at Birmingham city centre branches of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. This means that, in addition to booking Enterprise Car Club vehicles online, drivers can also go to a branch to discuss their needs in more detail and drive away either with an hourly or daily rental option – or longer if their need requires it.
Keith Kelly, Business Development Sales Manager at Enterprise Car Club, adds: “Accessing services like car hire where and when we need it is an increasingly important part of all our lives. Car club vehicles are fast becoming a must-have for urban dwellers, particularly in areas where parking is a challenge.
“Access to a ‘virtual car’ means business and residents no longer have to worry if they don’t have a vehicle when they need one. We see this expansion plan as an important step in delivering car club services across the city, and wherever possible, integrated with local transport hubs and services.”
