Beech Hall School has marked the national Sports Relief event on Friday 23 March, with a fundraising Feel-Good Friday.

Pupils at the Tytherington-based school joined together for a day of physical activity designed to make them feel good, focus on their personal wellbeing and raise much-needed funds for charity.

The excited pupils donned their best sports clothes to school and were encouraged to get moving during a range of active tasks including street dance, swimming, rugby training and boxercise. In the afternoon, older sporting stars competed in an intense game of football against members of staff.

Fun activities such as a bouncy castle and circus-skills class were provided to relieve the pupils. The budding-performers showcased their newly learnt talents in juggling, hula-hooping, unicycling, Diablo and plate spinning.

Feel-good fuel was provided throughout the day starting with a nutritious continental breakfast, followed by a visit from Granellis ice cream van and a delicious lunch.

To focus further on their personal wellbeing, pupils created their own mental health treasure boxes and filled them with items to help when feeling anxious or stressed.

Head teacher James Allen commented:

“The personal wellbeing of our pupils is incredibly important to us at Beech Hall School. We are committed to fostering a caring community and the day was a great opportunity to provide our pupils with some time to just have fun whilst raising money for a worthy cause.”

Beech Hall School is a non-selective independent school for children aged from six months to 16 years old. It is situated in a stunning 16-acre site with two listed buildings, playing fields and a swimming pool.
