Triple Paralympian Kylie Grimes MBE is the guest of honour at an important dinner being held to raise funds for the Bristol Neurokinex spinal cord injury rehabilitation clinic in Almondsbury.
Hosted by The Rotary Club of Bristol, the event is being held on Friday June 14th at Shaftesbury Park, Frenchay with tickets on sale at £52.72, including a sumptuous three-course dinner.
Kylie, herself a Neurokinex client who has received therapy at the Bristol centre, is the after-dinner speaker at this event. A gold medallist wheelchair rugby winner, Kylie was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to wheelchair rugby.
The only female on the GB team to win their first-ever gold in the event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Kylie is also the first woman of any country to win a Paralympic gold medal in the sport. In 2018 she was aided in her training and adapting to life in a wheelchair through the ground-breaking Neurokinex activity-based rehabilitation techniques. Quite simply, these helped shape her fitness and future.
Kylie will speak about how she has redefined possibilities and overcome challenges to achieve greatness. Set to be both motivating and empowering, the evening aims to raise vital funds for new equipment enabling gait training and assisted transfers for people visiting the Bristol Neurokinex clinic for rehabilitation therapy.
