Wyatt Homes, a leading housebuilder in the South West, hosted a Charity Golf Day at Wareham Golf Club near Poole, raising £7,300 for two local charities: Routes to Roots and Wimborne Food Bank.

The event, which kicked off Wyatt Homes' charitable initiatives for its next financial year, saw participants from across the region come together for a day of golf in support of these vital community organisations.

Shaun Pettitt, Managing Director at Wyatt Homes said,

"We believe in giving back to the communities where we build. Our Charity Golf Day was not just about raising funds, but about bringing people together for a common cause.

“We're incredibly proud to support Routes to Roots and Wimborne Food Bank, two organisations that make a tangible difference in people's lives every day. The generosity shown by all participants, as well as local businesses, has been truly heartwarming. This successful event is just the beginning of our commitment to these charities for 2024, and we look forward to continuing our support throughout the year."

Routes to Roots, which has been serving Poole for over two decades, provides essential support to individuals facing homelessness or at risk of eviction. In recent years, they have expanded their services to include food, laundry, and shower facilities.

Wimborne Food Bank plays a critical role in providing food and daily essentials to those in need. They also organise family events, ensuring that local families don't miss out on important experiences due to financial constraints.

The funds raised will directly benefit both charities, supporting their ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of local residents.

Wyatt Homes has committed to supporting these organisations throughout 2024 with various initiatives and fundraising events. The Poole-based housebuilder looks forward to continuing its partnership with Routes to Roots and Wimborne Food Bank, helping to spread awareness and raise much-needed funds for these local charities.

In a show of ongoing community support, Tesco Extra at Fleets Corner in Poole donated a prize for the raffle on the day and bananas and energy bars which were handed out to the golfers.

Ben Sargent, Centre Manager at Routes to Roots said,

“We are delighted that Wyatt Homes have decided to offer us support. Teaming up with such a wonderful local business is a huge benefit to Routes to Roots and will make a real difference in the lives of so many.

The generosity of the local community is vital in allowing us to continue providing ongoing support for those affected by homelessness in Poole. This generosity was on full display at the recent Wyatt Homes charity golf day, where it was incredibly heartwarming to see so many businesses contributing to a great event."

Sharon Keenan, Manager at Wimborne Food Bank said

“On behalf of everyone at Wimborne Food Bank, I would like to say a huge thank you to Wyatt Homes for their amazing donation from their recent Charity Golf Day.

“We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended this event and made it such a success. These funds will make a massive difference to local people in crisis, it enables us to continue to feed individuals and families who are unable to afford food and we cannot thank you enough for your support.”
