One of Bournemouth's oldest and most successful prep schools is celebrating the outstanding results of its latest inspection, as it received a double Excellent report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
Park School, situated just a mile from the coast and soon to mark its 100th anniversary, was visited by inspectors in February and is proud to announce that it has received a glowing report for all aspects of its curriculum, pastoral care, personal and social development of the children, health and safety, facilities and quality of leadership.
The school, which prepares children for the most prestigious secondary and grammar schools in the region, is run by Headmistress Melanie Dowler, a mother-of-two teacher who taught year five at the school before becoming Headmistress. As parents prepare to find out which primary school place their child is offered this month, Park School has just a few spaces remaining for its 2023 intake.
Melanie said: "We are utterly delighted with the result of our latest ISI visit and we're proud to be able to share the report in full with our school community. The summary is a delight to read, picking up on the passion of our teachers, the immaculate behaviour and attainment of our pupils and the family-feel of our school.
"I'm so pleased that the talent, hard work, kindness and individuality of both our teachers and pupils shone through in all aspects of school life and would like to whole-heartedly congratulate all members of Park School for their success in our latest inspection. We're currently formalising final offers for our 2023 intake and would encourage parents who are interested in sending their child to our school to enquire about applying before the end of April, as just a few spaces remain."
Park School is part of the Forfar Education Group, which owns and manages a number of outstanding schools across the UK. The specialist schools group, established in 2016 by former army officer John Forsyth, has a strong track record of owning, building and managing exceptional schools across the globe. Forfar's leadership team brings more than 80 years of experience in the education sector to the school.
Forfar CEO John Forsyth said he was very pleased with the latest ISI report for Park School, particularly the excellent statements inspectors shared about the roundedness of the pupils.
John said: "I was thrilled to read the inspectors' comments about Park School's pupils' social awareness, collaborative interaction skills, their readiness to celebrate the achievements of others and their strong moral understanding and emotional maturity. Aligned with the excellent academic, sporting and additional extra-curricular provision at the school, from music to performing arts and languages to school-wide sustainability initiatives, pupils at Park School experience the very best educational foundations on offer in its region.
"Park School is known for its welcoming environment, its friendly and caring staff, its leading academic results and its investment in supporting children to achieving their goals, as well its proximity to the sea for exciting initiatives such as Beach School. This report serves to highlight all that is outstanding about the school and Forfar is incredibly proud to share the news across our Group of excellent schools. Well done to all at Park School, we look forward to seeing what the rest of 2023 brings as the school continues to ride the wave of success."
