Explore Learning, the popular provider of extra tuition for children, has opened the doors of its latest centre in Walsall. Deputy Mayor, Cllr Paul Bott helped the team celebrate the launch with an official unveiling on Thursday 14 th March.

Located in Wisemore Central, it will be an essential education hub for children from all backgrounds looking to build on their skills in maths and English. The centre will be the 145 th to launch nationwide and, following the success of nearby locations in Wolverhampton and Oldbury, is expected to be extremely popular in the local community.

Adam Tindill, Centre Director of Explore Learning Walsall says:

“We are so excited to open our newest centre in Walsall. I was born and raised in the area and, having worked for Explore for five years, can’t wait to bring my passion for the company and their amazing service to my hometown. We’ve already experienced a massive amount of interest from parents looking for extra tuition and help with understanding the curriculum and how to best support their children. Similarly, we’ve had a number of 11 to 14-year olds come in off their own back asking for advice which has been brilliant as it shows they’re eager to learn and reach their full potential, with our help!”

So far, Explore Learning Walsall has got 150 families booked in for trials.

As well as English and maths tuition every day of the week, the centre will be launching specialist courses for the 11 Plus for those in year four and above from April, and Creative Writing and Succeed in Secondary from May. Explore Learning will also be running free workshops with local libraries, schools and community groups – particularly around their annual competitions - the Explore Learning Writers’ Awards and Explore Learning Mathematicians’ Awards. The Explore Learning Writers’ Awards launched last week and children aged 4 to 14 are tasked with writing a 500-word story on the theme ‘a chance to change the world’. The aim is to impress judge, author and TV presenter, Alesha Dixon, and win a trip to Disneyland Paris and £500 worth of books for their school!

Children receive tuition at a ratio of one tutor to six children, the perfect balance between giving children individual support and encouraging independent learning. Explore Learning centres are open during after school hours, weekends and throughout the school holidays with no pre-booking* required. Explore Learning knows that your child is unique, that’s why every child has their own programme of work, which adapts to their own particular strengths and development needs. The Walsall centre is Ofsted registered and the fact that each child’s development is mapped to the National Curriculum ensures that what they learn complements their studies at school.

Charlotte Gater, Head of Curriculum at Explore Learning says:

“We take a unique and personalised approach to maths and tuition. Since 2001, over 250,000 children have excelled academically, reached their potential and achieved the best possible results with Explore Learning. We are unwavering in our mission to develop a generation of fearless learners; children who will excel both inside and out of the classroom.”

Standard membership is £124 per month with a £50 registration fee and members can attend on a drop-in basis. There are a number of helping hand schemes available in order to help all children have access to Explore Learning’s award-winning tuition. Childcare vouchers, Tax-Free Childcare, the childcare element of Working Tax Credits, Universal Credits and the Childcare Grant for full-time students could enable you to save on your monthly membership. They also offer a fantastic scholarship scheme which gives a 50% discount to parents receiving Income Support or Job Seekers Allowance while members can also take advantage of their ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme, which can reduce their monthly membership to as little as £24 a month – simply by introducing other families to any Explore Learning centre.

All parents are eligible for a FREE trial session where parents and children can come in, meet the tutors and receive an assessment to find out how Explore Learning can help. Join before the end of May and pay no joining fee!
