Mansell Building Solutions has helped ready a group of 30 apprentices for a career in the construction sector by donating much-needed PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).

The plastering apprentices, all aged between 16 and 18, are benefiting from hi-vis vests, providing them with the right workwear and helping to reinforce the importance of staying safe on site.

Mansell is also aiming to provide work experience for the apprentices in the near future.

One of the UK's longest established and most experienced specialist contractors, Mansell produces off-site light-gauge steel framing and undertakes on-site finishes. It has recently worked with Seddon Construction to deliver five affordable Passivhaus schemes across Salford - St Lukes, Longshaw Drive, Ryall Avenue, Irwell Valley and Clifton Green.

Stephanie Mansell, business support director at Mansell Building Solutions, said:

"Social value is hugely important, and we are committed to doing as much as we can to support and improve the communities within which we operate.

"One of our mantras is local projects by local people and by helping the workforce of the future, we can assist their route into a diverse and rewarding career."

Allan Milne, director of Apprenticeships at Salford City College, added:

"Without having close relationships with businesses like Mansell, we can't provide the real-life work environments to help young people into employment.

"We've been offering outstanding Apprenticeship provision for more than 10 years and are proud to be an award-winning training provider and are very pleased to have support from Greater Manchester's diverse economy."

Mansell Building Solutions is a second-generation family business established in 1991.
