McCann Manchester has welcomed a new cohort of apprentices to join its 400-person strong agency this month.

An annual intake, this year’s group will work within a range of departments across the agency, including Creative, Social Media, Account Management, PR and Communications, gaining hands on experience.

The 18-month long programme was originally launched by McCann Manchester in 2011 and has proved to be hugely successful, with over 50 talented individuals graduating from the programme and being given the opportunity to be promoted into permanent roles.

This is the first time McCann Manchester has offered the Creative apprenticeship pathway. A new McCann Worldgroup UK wide programme has enabled 10 new Creative apprentices to join McCann across the country. Four of them are part of Manchester’s new cohort: Bodhi Davies, Iris Pettit, Alex Whitham and Alex Dinu.

Ollie McDonald is one of the 2024 apprentices, joining McCann Content Studios (MCS) McCann’s Social Media team. When asked why he chose McCann Manchester, Ollie answered

“The scale of the business is like nothing I’ve seen before. It is an agency with an amazing reputation and really good acclaim.”

When asked about his first week on the job, Ollie said that he’s enjoying

“understanding more about my role and my clients. My team have been very supportive and I’m looking forward to honing in on my skills.”

Head of Talent at McCann Manchester, Lou Buchanan said:

“Our industry is crying out for young talent and our apprentice scheme is a proven recruitment platform. As a business we remain committed to creating a culture of diversity and inclusivity and this programme plays a key role.”

In 2022 McCann Manchester announced a partnership with the higher education facility, UA92 in Manchester in a bid to help bring students one step closer to the industry.
