January 2025 will see Themis at Burnley College’s annual Inspire and Achieve Awards.
The glittering ceremony will see more than 40 nominees, their employers and their families celebrating at Burnley Football Club.
But the hard work has already begun. Judging took place in late November also at Turf Moor.
Judges from throughout East Lancashire assembled to use their combined skills and knowledge to watch the candidates’ presentations before interviewing them.
Categories include Manufacturing and Engineering, Sport and Fitness, Digital, Childcare and Teaching, Small and Large Employer of the Year and the Degree Level Apprenticeship Award.
The results are still closely under wraps, however, judges gave the Apprentices some outstanding comments including:
“This person is a future leader.”
“The level of natural passion for their subject on display is exceptional.”
“A great presentation that shows they continually exceed the expectations made of them.”
The judges are:
- Angelo Kornecki – Managing Director, AKORN Financial Advice Limited
- Carole Garrett – Director, Cherrytree Bakery

Themis prides itself on the connections it has with local industries, from one-person businesses to global aerospace manufacturers.
What makes a Themis Apprentice so special is the level of real-world experience they complete their qualification with, and so creating a realistic presentation and interview scenario is a key ingredient to ensure the awards go to the very best learners.
The ceremony takes place at Turf Moor on Thursday 30 January 2025.
