Business owners can learn how to manage their tax risks at a special event in Bristol organised by Evelyn Partners, the leading integrated wealth management and professional services group created from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson.

The Autumn Tax Update Breakfast: Managing Risks in 2022 and Beyond is being held on September 29 at Evelyn Partners’ Bristol office in Portwall Place.

An expert team of advisers from Evelyn Partners will explain the latest updates in the tax landscape and what businesses need to consider. The event, which is aimed at business owners and finance professionals, will cover the following topics:

  • Managing tax risk - a practical approach

  • VAT – common indirect tax pitfalls and current hot topics

  • Key people considerations for the year ahead

The expert panel of speakers will include Katherine Colledge, a partner in Evelyn Partners’ business tax services team, who specialises in advising on corporation tax matters. Other speakers include experienced employment tax adviser Stephen Greenaway, who is an associate director at Evelyn Partners, and VAT director Damon Wright who has more than 25 years’ experience advising on indirect tax and VAT.

Katherine Colledge said:

“The tax environment is dynamic so businesses need to keep on top of the changes in order to manage their tax risks. This event will address the key areas to consider, some common pitfalls and provide practical steps that businesses can take.

“It will be the first of our regular in-person tax updates that we are planning to hold in Bristol over the coming months. Anyone attending the event will not only have the opportunity to ask questions of our speakers but can also request a complimentary meeting to discuss specific needs or queries.

“Breakfast will be served during the morning session and there will be further opportunities to network with other tax and finance professionals after the main session.”
