A Manchester-based accountancy practice has called on the industry to ditch its reliance on spreadsheets and embrace modern tech after implementing new systems which have transformed its operations.

TR Forensic Accountants has made significant investment in technology to streamline its processes, with a particular focus on helping self-employed clients manage their finances more efficiently.

This move is part of the firm’s ongoing efforts to digitise the company after a period of growth and offer innovative solutions that cater to the evolving needs of its customers, including 10 newly onboarded clients since the digital upgrade.

Founder and CEO of TR Forensic Accountants, Tanzeel Rehman, is now calling on other firms to do the same:

“We’re not just keeping pace with technological advancements - we’re shaping how self-employed individuals manage their finances.

“From Uber drivers to YouTubers, our goal is to simplify the assessment process and empower our clients to focus on their businesses.

“But also, we want to keep growing as a business and in order to do that, we have to constantly evolve.

He added:

"In today’s fast-changing world, we’re thrilled to see our business move with the times and see success as a result."

The move from the firm comes as use of technology continues to be the biggest force for change in  accounting, despite industry leaders expressing doubts that the sector could survive increasing digitisation as far back as 2015.

Firms nationwide began making the leap from physical files to online accounting software both prior to and post Covid, enabling businesses to monitor their tax and financial transactions in real time.

Mr Rehman said:

"The transition from physical to online is no longer optional - it’s essential for modern accounting.

“Our new implementations reflect a commitment to delivering intuitive, real-time solutions for today’s independent professionals.

“As the industry evolves, TR Forensic Accountants will continue to adapt and innovate, ensuring that our clients always have the best tools to remain ahead of the curve."
