Employees surprise business founder with a special anniversary party


Thornton & Lowe is celebrating ten years of helping clients across the UK win more contracts through the provision of sector leading bid and tender support services.


To mark the milestone the team of employees secretly organised and surprised the founder of the business, Dave Thornton, with a special event held at their head office in Bolton.


Since the business was formed in 2009, it has enjoyed organic growth to a directly employed core team of twenty two professionals split across 3 key bid divisions; Bid Writing, Bid Resource and Bid Training.


Chris Turner, Bid Designer at Thornton & Lowe, who led the celebrations, said

“We all agreed we couldn’t let 10 years pass by without celebrating so we decided to jump on it quickly, before Dave had time to think about it. We wanted to say thank you to Dave and the senior team for their passion and employee-centric attitude that empowers us.”


Over the last 10 years Thornton & Lowe has assisted on some of the most high-profile public sector procurement deals that have secured billions of contracts for their clients. Starting in Bolton the team has now expanded nationally with offices across the UK.


Most recently, the business has launched its second innovative software solution, Tender Pipeline, to help organisations search for specific contracts and create relevant tender alerts. This follows the successful release of Tender Library, a bid management tool, which was initially developed 6 years ago for the Bid Team at Thornton & Lowe.


Founder and Director Dave Thornton, believes the firm’s success over the last ten years can largely be attributed to the hard work and passion of the team who continue to live and breathe the business's values.
