- Ambitious plans unveiled to create Preston's first new hospital for 10 years
- Major £1.5m investment will create state-of-the-art healthcare facilities
- "A new hospital for North West residents developed and run by a Lancashire family"
BESPOKE Healthcare Group has unveiled ambitious plans to invest £1.5m in a major new hospital in Lancashire.
The state-of-the-art facility in Preston's Millennium City Park will sit on the same site as Bespoke Healthcare Group's original Greater Lancashire Hospital and create around 70 new jobs when it begins welcoming both NHS and private patients from across the North West this autumn.
The new 10,000 sq ft premises will include purpose-built ultrasound, endoscopy and minor procedure suites, seven consulting rooms, physiotherapy and gymnasium areas, exceptionally comfortable waiting and post-treatment rooms, besides much more.
Bespoke Healthcare Group, which is owned and run by Preston-based entrepreneurs Sara and Gwam Rajiah, opened the original Greater Lancashire Hospital building in 2014.
Working closely with some of the UK's best-known consultants and medical practitioners, the hospital supports regional NHS trusts and private healthcare patients.
Gwam Rajiah, executive chairman of Bespoke Healthcare Group, said: "This will be a new hospital for North West residents that's developed and run by a family firmly rooted in Lancashire.
"The new hospital will be a major milestone in the evolution and growth of Greater Lancashire Hospital as it will mean that we can continue working in close partnership with even more NHS trusts and private patients from across the region.
"These new state-of-the-art facilities will also enable some of the country's leading medical practitioners to work with the best possible healthcare equipment currently available here in the North West - which is a win-win for everyone."
Mr Rajiah anticipates that the new hospital will create at least 50 new clinical roles and an additional 20 clerical roles when it opens.
Construction work on fitting out the new three-floor hospital, which will transform the previous Synetics building, will commence later this spring.
Sara Rajiah, Bespoke Healthcare Group's operations director, said: "We've been working closely with the architects to ensure that energy efficiency and sustainability underpin the entire development.
"Currently, we're the only hospital in the region that has received ‘outstanding' for patient care by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we remain entirely committed to creating a truly world class hospital that helps forge the future of healthcare for residents and medical professionals here in the North West."
Sara and Gwam Rajiah live in Goosnargh, near Preston, with their son, Myles, who joined the business in 2022 and is now director of investment and development.
