DINOSAURS are once again set to rule the earth as a family friendly event heads to Manchester.

Totally Jurassic is returning to Walkden Shopping Centre at Salford from 18 May to 30 June for the second year running.

And this time prehistoric giants, from T-Rex to stegosaurus and diplodocus, will be joined by a new feature, Totally Jungle, giving children aged from two to 10 the chance to become mini explorers.

Featuring more than 100 static models of all shapes and sizes, Totally Jurassic is an immersive experience designed not only to show children the huge variety of creatures that once roamed the earth but also teach them about these prehistoric animals.

To a growling soundtrack, the youngsters will learn about everything from flying raptors to fossils and find out what they ate, how they lived and how they died.

And, in Totally Jungle, they can enter a world of giant plants and see life size models of animals such as zebra and giraffes while their parents take photos along the way.

Last year's event received rave reviews and James Dolan, managing director at Totally Attractions, which organises it, said this year's

"will be even bigger and better.

"Children of all ages are absolutely fascinated by dinosaurs,"

he said,
"and Totally Jurassic gives them the best possible opportunity to see what they liked like – and the size of them – and learn about them as well.

"It's a completely immersive experience so as they walk round they can not only see these strange creatures but they can also hear them.

"And, by adding Totally Jungle for the first time this year, they can see animals they would be more be familiar with – such as monkeys and elephants - and learn about those as well."

Totally Jurassic should take around 45 minutes to complete with an additional 15 minutes approximately for Totally Jungle – although visitors can stay as long as they like - and James said:

"It's the perfect half term day out for all the family."

Places are limited and tickets, which must be pre-booked, cost £5.95 each with a family ticket – for four – priced at £20 and under twos go free.

The experience will initially be open at weekends and throughout half term.
