Brunel’s SS Great Britain is celebrating its role as Bristol’s most-loved ship by hatching a cracking offer for the Easter holidays.
As a thank you to the people of Bristol and its surrounds for their ongoing support for the charity that conserves Brunel’s ship, tickets will be available at half price for those with a BS postcode, when booked online*. The offer will be valid for visits from 5th to 21st April inclusive.
Visiting over Easter will mean you’ll also be treated to an interactive show with Mr Brunel and friends, a family trail and a Spring craft activity.
And to shine a light on the offer, Brunel’s SS Great Britain will be hosting the light installation “Bristol is always a good idea” from 31 March to 12 April. Creator and artist Dave Buonaguidi described the artwork as a “love note to Bristol enshrined in huge, eye-catching pink lights”.
CEO of the SS Great Britain Trust, Andrew Edwards, expressed how important the support of the community is for the organisation.
“The SS Great Britain rests in the very dock where Brunel built her in Bristol, and we know the ship is held dear by Bristolians. Each year we welcome tens of thousands of people from the BS areas, who, through their visits, are supporting us in our education and conservation work. As a thank you, our love note to the Bristol region is this exclusive offer, as we can think of nothing better than an Easter spent welcoming local people who love the ship!”
