Goodfish Group has reached agreement with Schneider Electric to acquire Schneider’s UK extrusion and assembly business at Flint. Once completed (expected to be October 2024), the business will operate as Goodfish (Flint) Ltd, alongside our other manufacturing businesses in St Asaph, Cannock and Worcester.
The agreement will see Goodfish take over the manufacturing and supply of a wide range of cable management products currently supplied by Schneider Electric on the UK market. Goodfish will continue to manufacture and supply extruded and moulded products on the UK cable management market, marketed and distributed through newly-formed Cutterwell & Co. Schneider Electric has no interest in Cutterwell & Co, nor will it be connected with it in any way.
On completion of the acquisition, Goodfish will take on responsibility for manufacturing Schneider Electric’s cable management products at the Flint site, meeting Schneider’s requirements for extruded products on overseas (mainly French and Nordic) markets.
Goodfish also manufactures extruded conduit and certain moulded products for Honeywell’s MK Electric business in the UK, following a similar acquisition completed in January 2020. This business has grown from its original base of cable management products to include products for new customers in the construction, DIY, flooring and point-of-sale sectors.
The acquisition will increase the scale and reach of Goodfish in many ways: our manufacturing footprint will increase to 300,000 sq.ft. on four sites in the Midlands and North West, our employee numbers will rise to 163, our extrusion capacity will double and run-rate sales will increase to £25-30m in 2025. These sales are to a wide range of sectors including construction, automotive, medical, heating & water, aerospace & defence, and electronics.
Goodfish continues to look for value-enhancing acquisitions associated with the manufacture of plastic-centric products in the UK and continental Europe, as it continues its strategy to scale up to meet the needs of our existing and potential UK and multinational customers.
