BGN - the Manchester-based brand-led design and digital agency - has redesigned and launched a series of websites for smart energy provider Social Energy.
The project saw the BGN team redesign the firm’s UK and Australian websites based on the new brand which Social Energy created in-house. For each territory, two bespoke versions were developed to target the company’s key audiences of homeowners and commercial and social housing organisations.
Social Energy’s aim is to effectively reduce carbon emissions and make renewables more profitable. From creating solutions in large-scale energy trading to lowering the heating bills for those in social housing, it is ensuring that everyone can benefit from a renewable future.
The sites for homeowners now include an instant online quoting engine where customers in the UK and Australia can see how much they could potentially save by using Social Energy’s services. The tool is integrated with the firm’s internal system to generate accurate costs and tariffs. Its home product range includes solar panels, batteries and energy hubs. Customers are able to run their home with the 100% clean energy they’ve generated and Social Energy will top them up with eco-friendly energy and buy their excess power for 4 X more than its competitors*.
The core aims of the launches were to bring the new brand to life online; to position Social Energy as a major player in the market; to drive new business in the social housing and commercial sectors; to drive personal customer acquisition and installation through the online quoting system; and to provide insightful content around the product range and available tariffs.
Paul Bailey, founder and client services director at BGN, said: “We wanted Social Energy’s new brand to come to life online so our focus has been on making the most of the fantastic animations that are its foundation. This helped us create a modern and clean aesthetic that truly positions them as a pioneering energy supplier. We also thought carefully about how users would interact with certain pages so we’ve made elements of the site much more interactive and informative.”
Abbie Moakes, Creative Lead at Social Energy, added: “BGN really understood our new brand and how to translate it online for maximum reach and benefit. It was a complex project due to multiple territories, audiences and different messaging but the result is a true representation of us, our mission and the value we add to all our customers.”
