Nationally-acclaimed, award-winning women's mentor and inspirational business leader Wendy Dean has curated the pioneering ‘Why Women Don't Play Golf' (WWDPG) programme, offering an invaluable opportunity for women in business striving to reach their full potential.
As part of the WWDGP programme, an exclusive personal development retreat will be held on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 July at Rookery Hal Hotel and Spa in Cheshire, inviting female leaders to come together to work on themselves, away from their business. Surrounded by women who want to celebrate and challenge each other to be their best self, a series of sessions have been devised to leave females feeling empowered, focused on their future, and broken away from their self-limiting beliefs.
The two-day programme will consist of interactive and engaging workshop activities, input from guest speakers including a style consultant and voice coach, and the provision of practical knowledge and skills to enable women in business to succeed. Throughout the first day, individuals will focus on who they are, how they communicate that, and what that means for their future. Sessions will include managing personal development with an introduction to Johari's Window, reviewing the Wheel of Life, establishing values and beliefs, understanding the difference between a fixed and growth mindset, and personal branding.
The following day, the agenda will place an important emphasis on helping females in business to discover their style, passion and build their confidence to take those next steps. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore modes of operating at work, participate in a topical discussion around the current reality of women in business, learn how to become an inspirational leader and effective communicator, and identify their initial goals.
With over 30 years' experience making her mark in industries that were traditionally male-dominated, Wendy launched WWDPG to help aspirational females in business to break the glass ceiling placed over them. The programme is based on Wendy's experience as a female business leader who didn't attend corporate golf days because of her gender; Wendy now speaks widely on the topic, sharing insight into how she overcame these challenges in the workplace, and how she now works to help others break down these boundaries placed on their careers.
Wendy is Founder and CEO of business consultancy Strategi Solutions, a qualified coach and has led the HR function for some of the worlds most renowned organisations. She has also been involved in the creation and support of numerous charities and foundations, mostly focused on education, supporting her local community, and the celebration of women in business.
At the WWDPG personal development retreat, Wendy will be joined by Helen Bailey, Head of Learning and Development at Strategi Solutions and an award-winning L&D specialist with over 20 years' experience across a variety of sectors. Also sharing their expertise will be qualified Style Consultant Gail Morgan, personal and professional development coach Rachel Boulton and Jamie Van Hoal, author, speaker, facilitator and teacher in the art of brilliant communication.
Wendy Dean commented: "I am incredibly passionate about sharing my story to guide others on their path – whether that be as a woman, as a leader, a HR professional, or someone just looking for a new outlook on life.
"In launching Why Women Don't Play Golf, I am keen to help females in business challenge and enhance their attributes, improve their personal and professional life, and achieve their goals. Self-limiting beliefs prevent women from reaching their full potential. With courage, determination, and passion, women have worked tirelessly towards their aspirations knowing the journey will never be easy, but always be worth it. Together, I truly believe that we can break down barriers and create an environment where women are empowered to succeed."
