The Birmingham-based commercial cleaning company responsible for keeping some of the city’s top properties spick and span has won a trio of national industry awards.

We Clean Ltd, based in Rubery, won the overall ‘Tork Loo of the Year’ Award at the national Loo of the Year Awards held in Solihull.

And they followed this up with the Individual Categories Award for England and the Individual Attendant of the Year Award, which went to Baba Sechan for his outstanding work and dedication as head housekeeper at Brindleyplace.

It is the first time in the Loo of the Year’s 28-year history that a cleaning company has achieved this top award and was in recognition of receiving Platinum Awards for every one of their 11 entries.

We Clean is best known in Birmingham as the team behind the scenes at such bluechip venues as Birmingham Hippodrome, Symphony Hall, Birmingham Town Hall, West Bromwich Building Society, the MAC, the Assay Office, Solihull School and many of the region’s major office buildings.

In Brindleyplace, We Clean provides 900 hours of service a week with 13 full time staff, and they also are responsible for the cleaning of Aldi’s UK purchasing head office in Atherstone.

We Clean director Paul Concannon said: “These awards mean that we are the best cleaning company in the UK and that we train and employ the best cleaning operatives in the UK.

“These awards are in recognition of every one of our 400-plus frontline cleaning staff that we have in our business.

“They are our Kings and Queens and they are what makes our business. This award goes out to them.”

Awards managing director Mike Bone said: “We Clean first entered the Loo of the Year Awards in 2014 and they took the competition by storm winning a number of awards. All of their entries this year were exceptionally clean and well maintained, which is why they were judged overall winner.”

We Clean was formed in 2003 by directors David Harker and Paul Concannon, who have over 80 years’ experience in the cleaning business.

David Harker added: “As a company, We Clean is all about Birmingham and the wider Midlands area. As a team we are immensely proud to serve the major venues that are considered to be the ‘front door’ for visitors to the West Midlands.

“The success of our business has been built upon our simple but effective ethos – We clean and proud of it – where as directors of the business we have passionately encouraged all of our staff to take pride in their work.”
