Rapidly expanding international law firm Clyde & Co has underlined its commitment to the Manchester market with the acquisition of an additional 16,597 square feet of city centre office space.
The firm, which is located at Chancery Place and in the Royal Exchange building, will take an additional floor in the Royal Exchange in the summer, bringing its total workspace in the city to 66,524 sq/ft.
David Wynn, acting managing partner at Clyde & Co Manchester comments, "Taking on this additional 16,597 square feet, allows the office to comfortably increase personnel levels when required to support the expansion of our Casualty practice area among others. It also represents an efficient business move for the firm as a number of businesses are decreasingly London-centric and don't expect their suppliers to have the bulk of their workforce in the city.Manchester is now a leading European business location as well as a complementary proposition to the UK’s capital."
With offices across England and Scotland, Clyde & Co is one of the largest law firms in the UK. Its Manchester office is the firm's second largest office globally and now numbers almost 500 staff. The additional space will allow the firm to expand in Manchester until at least 2020.
David Wynn adds, Manchester is a world class city and we are increasingly seeing the benefits of having a hub here, not just in our core insurance sector work but also in other areas such as real estate, projects and construction and transport. The city is developing all the time and is a gateway to other regional markets to the north, to the east and to Scotland.
Clyde & Co Manchester is one of the city's leading corporate and commercial law firms with market leading practices in insurance, casualty, real estate, projects and construction, employment and pensions and marine. Manchester represents one of 9 UK offices where the region was recently pleased to win the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards.
