A major housing developer in the South West has donated £2,000 to a local children’s hospice charity.
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley presented the cheque to Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home at the organisation’s headquarters in Kingswood as part of the builder’s Community Champions scheme.
The donation will go towards supporting fully trained nursing staff to provide at-home care for children with life-limiting conditions, giving their hard-pressed parents and carers some much-needed respite.
The care also provides siblings a little bit more attention in a family where one child’s needs have to take precedence over the others, and child-safe access to creative play and outdoor visits with someone they know and trust.
Over the last 30 years the charity has supported over 300 children and their families across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset, and Swindon & Wiltshire.
The five-star developer has a significant presence around Bristol, with two, three, and four-bed properties available from £295,000 at Beaufort Park in Cribbs Causeway, and two-bed homes from £245,000 at Tundra Point in Lyde Green. Properties at Dramway Field recently sold out.
Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions programme sees £700,000 donated to good causes and much-valued organisations across the UK each year to good causes. Recent local recipients include
