A top tailor from London’s world famous Savile Row is turning its attention to Selfridges Birmingham, as part of the forthcoming Live + Loud festival.

Richard James will help shoppers express their individuality with an exclusive made to measure service, featuring a range of the latest designs. It will be available on Level 4 of the iconic store on Friday 2nd October between 10am and 6pm as part of the many festival events taking place.

Adam Hockney, general manager of Selfridges Birmingham, said: “Savile Row is world-renowned as the byword for the best British tailoring and Richard James has established a reputation for its bold, progressive take on the timeless and traditional, since becoming the first of the ‘New Establishment’ tailors there.

“We are thrilled to bring this service to Birmingham and showcase their exciting designs, as part of the Live + Loud event, which is set to be huge for for the city.”

Olok Banerjee, commercial manager for Richard James, said this was an exciting partnership that could continue after the festival.

“It is really good to be a part of the Live + Loud festival and this is a great opportunity for anyone who wants something special for a very reasonable introductory price.

“Craftmanship, service and expertise are integral to Richard James. Our philosophy is to produce classic clothing of unsurpassable quality, but to push the boundaries through design, colour and cut. We work closely with the best woollen mills and the most exacting artisans in Britain and Italy to design and produce our exclusive fabrics and handmade accessories.”

The tailoring service will form just a small part of Selfridge’s inaugural Live + Loud festival in Birmingham, which features Britain’s most talented artists, photographers, musicians and designers from across the country to celebrate the diversity and culture of the city at a never-before-seen event.

Top names to look out for across the four days will include fashion designer Ashley Williams, celebrity photographer Tyrone Lebon, film duo Tim & Barry, Birmingham Soul Singer Jacob Banks and plenty of up-and-coming home-grown talent including female MC RoxXxan and Call Me Unique.

There will also be beauty and fashion pop-ups and specialist talks in store, which will resonate strongly with the city’s underground music and fashion scenes, all to be celebrated as part of the festival.
