Oldbury based Aonix Limited, a leading technology, cybersecurity, and communications company, has completed the first phase of its highly anticipated "Aonix Aviary" project at Brockswood Animal Sanctuary in Sedgley, West-Midlands. This milestone marks the latest achievement in Aonix Limited’s ongoing partnership with the sanctuary.
The unveiling of the newly modernised aviary was celebrated with a vibrant Mexican Fiesta lunch, alongside a variety of team-building activities for Aonix Limited’s employees, their families, and key suppliers. The event culminated in the official presentation of the upgraded aviary section, which now offers a more spacious and brighter environment for the sanctuary's birds.
Aonix Limited has been a long-term supporter of Brockswood Animal Sanctuary, participating in corporate volunteer initiatives and sponsoring animals on behalf of its employees. This year, the company deepened its involvement by committing to restore and modernise one of the sanctuary’s aging aviaries, originally constructed in the 1960s. The project represents a significant upgrade and a long-term benefit for the sanctuary’s care of its animals.
Over recent months, Aonix Limited team members have volunteered one morning each week to assist with the removal of the outdated aviary infrastructure, clearing overgrown trees and dismantling obsolete structures. The newly unveiled aviary now boasts feathered panelling, a fresh structural framework, modern mesh netting, and a thoroughly cleaned jet-washed wall, creating a clean and inviting environment for the sanctuary’s birds.
“We’re thrilled to be part of this transformative project,”
said Amanda Sloan, Marketing Manager at Aonix Limited.
“Restoring the aviary was more than an act of corporate responsibility; it was an opportunity to give back to a community treasure. Many of us grew up visiting Brockswood, and it holds a special place in our hearts. The team is proud to contribute to an improvement that will benefit the animals for years to come.”
In addition to the aviary restoration, Aonix Limited has recently supported BrockswoodAnimal Sanctuary with supplying and its engineers installing a new cloud-based communication system. This solution is compliant with the upcoming Big BT Switch-Off, ensuring that sanctuary will continue to provide animal care and education without disruption. The transition allows Brockswood to retain its existing phone number, its crucial connection with the local community and automate the supply of information to callers.
The success of the aviary project highlights the power of collaboration between businesses and local communities. It has not only enhanced the sanctuary’s facilities but also provided Aonix Limited employees with meaningful team-building opportunities, promoting employee well-being and boosting morale through direct engagement with nature and animal care.
“We hope our story inspires other businesses to get involved in supporting local causes such as Brockswood Animal Sanctuary,”
added Amanda Sloan.
Neil Swann, Owner of Brockswood Animal Sanctuary, expressed his gratitude:
“The new aviary will make a world of difference to the birds in our care. Aonix Limited has been an incredible partner over the years, and we are immensely grateful for their hard work and dedication.”
Looking ahead, Aonix Limited has already commenced work on the second phase of the
"Aonix Aviary" project, and are looking forward the final results.
