An award-winning Nottinghamshire IT company has been working with a leading American tech firm to establish a groundbreaking service, providing similar businesses with expertise in using automation to save time and money.
It’s estimated that the ‘Your Automation’ service, developed by Eastwood-based Your IT Department Ltd, could save small firms over forty hours a week, allowing staff to use that time in more productive ways.
Your IT Department Ltd provides managed IT services to more than 100 businesses across the UK. The company is using the latest technology to provide the new customised automation service for other MSPs (Managed Service Providers).
Automation software can carry out a range of time-consuming tasks, including those involving change management, such as setting-up new IT users, as well as responding to data breaches and handling IT documentation.
Automation Engineer at Your IT Department Ltd, Gareth Smith, has been working with the US-based company Rewst to develop the new service in the UK. He said it is an exciting development:
“This is a game changer for companies like ours,”
said Gareth.
“It’s not about reducing head-counts, it’s about allowing people to work more efficiently and creatively by cutting out the time spent on manual processes.”
The service utilises the Rewst Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform, which leverages AI technology to provide other MSPs with a customised solution which easily integrates with a variety of IT systems. Your IT Department Ltd is one of only two UK companies to partner with the Florida-based firm in this way.
IT engineers usually spend time on a range of manual tasks such as setting-up accounts for new users, re-setting passwords and removing employees from IT systems when they leave a company. Now these types of processes can be performed automatically and faster.
“There are so many ways in which this automation can help MSPs and their clients,”
added Gareth.
“At a time when small businesses are facing a financial squeeze, the benefits of Your Automation can make a real difference in freeing-up time for employees to be more productive in other ways.
“We’ve already received a lot of positive feedback from clients and I’m sure other MSPs will be keen to reap the benefits of our tailored approach to automation solutions during 2025 and beyond.”
