Multi-award-winning sovereign cloud and cybersecurity services provider, METCLOUD, is expanding its presence in Birmingham, with plans to create up to 100 jobs. The business’ strategic growth drive follows a series of major contract and partnership wins, reinforcing its position as a leader in digital transformation, AI and cybersecurity innovation.
METCLOUD has demonstrated its commitment to delivering cutting-edge cybersecurity, AI solutions and support services to its growing client base by taking up the entire fifth floor of Lyndon House, Birmingham. As well as creating up to 100 skilled roles in cybersecurity, the expansion will enable the business to increase its presence in key sectors, including defence, critical national infrastructure, Government, health, finance and insurance.
The software and services company’s expansion has been enabled by a number of recent contract successes, including being selected to provide cybersecurity services to specialist defence manufacturing firm, NMS UK. The international manufacturer recently invested in a new facility in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire which will focus on manufacturing protected patrol vehicles for the UK defence industry and for international export. METCLOUD’S secure sovereign cloud solutions will support NMS UK’s compliance with stringent defence industry regulations, providing the required framework to protect sensitive data and enable operational efficiency.
METCLOUD is also empowering businesses in the fight against cybercrime through the formation of a number of strategic partnerships with complementary cybersecurity providers, including Birmingham headquartered CyberQ Group. This collaboration brings CyberQ’s expertise in threat detection, response, and mitigation together with METCLOUD’s state-of-the-art secure cloud services to create a fortified cyber defence ecosystem, tailored for modern digital infrastructures.
The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) – the region’s official investment promotion agency – supported METCLOUD’s expansion by providing dedicated sector-focused consultancy and PR support, to help the business raise its profile in the local marketplace. METCLOUD has also participated in London & Partners’ Grow Global programme, which has supported the business in growing its international presence and accessing new growth opportunities. The programme included expert guidance, helping the business to shape its international growth strategy, as well as international trade missions, workshops, events and connections to key partners.
“Our expansion reflects our continued growth nationally and our unwavering commitment to Birmingham and the West Midlands. The tech sector is worth £15.3bn to the regional economy, with 144,000 people working in tech roles. The region’s nine world-class universities, several of which specialise in data science and AI, mean we’re able to tap into an evergreen pipeline of specialist talent to power our growth.
Our new relationship with NMS UK underscores our strong track record in the dynamic defence industry landscape and shared commitment to innovation, resilience and security. I look forward to working closely with them in 2025 as we both embark on the next phase of our West Midlands growth journeys.”
Ian Vickers, CEO at METCLOUD
