Gloucestershire based network solutions company, Gbics, have announced an apprenticeship partnership with another Cirencester company – The Apprenticeship Partner.
Gbics specialise in fibre optic products that have been integrated in bespoke networking solutions, and are looking to add to their team in the positions of a Warehouse Operative and eventually an apprentice to join their dedicated sales team.
The Apprenticeship Partner was established by Hannah Hockley, who has worked with and has experience of working with apprentices and apprenticeship training through Cirencester College, The Apprenticeship Management Group as well as Cirencester Chamber of Commerce.
This is the first time Gbics have engaged an apprenticeship scheme and coincides with National Apprenticeship Week (5-11 February 2024). This is the 17th annual celebration that brings together apprentices and businesses.
James Burgess is the director of Gbics and said: "One of the advantages of an apprenticeship is that the individual will develop their relationship within the sector of choice and build a reputation within the working environment.
"Hannah, her company, The Apprenticeship Partner and Webs Training have been instrumental in giving us the impetus to look into this type of employment and training. We are looking forward to meeting the candidates."
Hannah Hockley added: "Being able to support Gbics to hire their first apprentice has been a great experience. It's a privilege to contribute to the development of future professionals and to witness firsthand the positive impact these apprenticeships have on both the individuals and the industries they work in. My passion lies in providing businesses who want to employ apprentices the support they need to do this positively and successfully."
