A Swindon-based company that designs and builds data centres as well as providing power protection services nationally has repurchased all shares from private investors with support from HSBC UK.

The buyback, financed with a £2 million funding package from HSBC UK’s North West division, has made Data Centre Response’s CEO John Peers, Technical Director Paul Anderson, and Commercial Director Jack Ogden the sole owners of the company.

The company, which specialises in back up power systems for all industries as well as bespoke design, build, and project management of data centres ranging from £200,000 to £5 million across the UK, is part of the newly formed Creative Power Protection Group Ltd.

Following the buyback, the owners plan on launching an acquisition strategy and expanding its workforce by 33 per cent.

John Peers, CEO OF Data Centre Response Ltd, said:

“The successful repurchase of our shares and the support from HSBC UK marks a pivotal moment for Data Centre Response Ltd as it transforms into the Creative Power Protection Group Ltd. With this funding, we are now able to enhance our service offerings and continue our acquisition strategy across the UK.

“As a cash generative business, our focus is on driving growth, expanding our workforce, and strengthening our market position. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and confident that under my, Paul’s and Jack’s leadership, we will reach our ambitious goals.”

David Butler, Area Director at HSBC UK, added:

“We are pleased to support Data Centre Response in this significant transition that will help the business continue to unlock new opportunities across the UK. The repurchase of shares not only strengthens the company's position but also aligns with our commitment to support the growth of businesses with a UK-wide footprint.”

Foresight Group Private Equity, in conjunction with Downing LLP, were the private investors in Data Centre Response Ltd, who sold the percentage holding back to the new owners. The management team were assisted by advisors in the North West, Frazer Hall Corporate Finance, BBS Law LLP and by RPG Crouch Chapman Accountants in London.
