With firm roots in Bury, Manchester, DocTech support organisations both locally and nationally, private, and public, in moving away from manual, time-consuming business processes.

DocTech’s main solution is the document management software DocuWare, which they’ve provided for 28 years. They have saved clients thousands of pounds on postage, printing, and paper costs, alongside a reduction in employee hours spent on time-consuming tasks such as data entry and document searches.  The firm has testimonials from housing associations through to manufacturers, praising improvements in productivity, alongside the positive attitude of DocTech’s in-house support team.

Document management software has a huge impact on business operations and employees.  During the COVID Pandemic it enabled organisations to work seamlessly, accessing documents with ease when they were forced to work from home.  DocTech saw an uptake in new clients during this time, and has continued to serve those organisations well, after working from home became the norm.

DocTech History

Founded in 1984, DocTech started as an office supplies company and slowly began to specialise in Print, IT equipment and Software.  In the 90’s, the firm was quick to realise the potential in the rising popularity of removing paper where possible and started offering document scanning solutions, converting information held in paper records onto floppy disks.

In 1994, while at a conference exploring new software solutions, a meeting with DocuWare saw the start of a fantastic partnership between the two organisations.  A year later, DocTech had its first document management client, a business looking for secure, digital document storage.

Over the next decade, DocTech strengthened its team, employing local technical experts.  Members of the team who joined more than 20 years ago, are still working at DocTech today.  The business has continually added more solutions to its product portfolio with the sole aim of being able to support organisations further with document processing challenges.

The mid-noughties saw the popularity of cloud software grow, which lead to a further increase in enquires.  These cloud solutions provide clients with a hassle-free way to store and manage their information, whilst having secure access from anywhere in the world.  Cloud document management has become the preference of most new clients today due to the limitless applications, scalability, high levels of security and software integration options.

Celebrations

To mark four decades in business, DocTech rebranded its logo to include a ruby red 40, alongside ‘established in 1984’, to highlight the length of their experience.  Current staff will also be able to celebrate on a team outing, currently being planned.

To add to the special year, DocTech were awarded DocuWare Customer Service Champion and DocuWare Diamond Club membership, proudly retaining the accolade ever since its inception 20 years ago.  The Diamond Club represents DocuWare’s global, top-level partners.

As a way to mark the anniversary further, staff wanted to support a local charity and have decided to take part in the Bury Hospice Twilight Walk on the 21st June.

"We have been in Bury for 40 years and so felt it was only right to do something meaningful for a charity on our doorstep. Bury Hospice was the perfect choice.”

DocTech pride themselves on their in-house expertise, experience, and the lasting relationships they have built with their clients.  Ruban Rajasooriyar, DocTech’s managing director commented on the firm’s current position as they celebrate 40 years:

“The document management landscape is continually developing and evolving, and we are always responding to our customer’s latest needs. Advances in AI mean we can push our software further to help with even more detailed data capture and process automation requirements.

None of that would be possible without everyone past and present, who has helped us along the way. So, I’d like to say thank you to all our staff, clients, suppliers and partners for their input, time, effort, and knowledge over the last 40 years. DocTech wouldn't be where it is today without you.”
