With just over 6 years until the complete ban on new petrol and diesel cars, over 50% of new car registrations are now either fully electric or some form of hybrid vehicle and range anxiety is starting to become a thing of the past. It's a different style of driver behaviour and important to make changes to look after the vehicle battery health but more and more manufacturers are swiftly transitioning away from ICE vehicles to give us new and exciting EV models over the next year.

Exciting EVs to look out for in 2023 and beyond:

  • Volkswagen ID.7: This sporty electric Sportback is set to compete with Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2. This fully electric Sportback has green credentials that extend way beyond the battery including recycled ocean plastics and bottles used in seat covers, carpet insulation, cladding and liners. The new ID.7 consumes just 13 kWh every 62.1 miles which, in real terms, gives it a range of up to 435 miles and a 10-80% charge time of just 30 minutes.

  • Polestar 4: Combining coupé aerodynamics and SUV space, the Polestar 4 offers an exceptional driving experience with innovative tech like a HD camera rear window and standard Google integration. The Polestar 4 is the fastest production car within the brand, achieving 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds and the long-range dual motor has a preliminary range target of up to 350 miles WLTP.

  • CUPRA Tavascan: CUPRA's first all-electric SUV delivers up to 341-mile range and charges rapidly. The 15-inch CUPRA CONNECT system and advanced safety features make it a compelling choice.

  • Peugeot 2008: This versatile model comes in petrol or all-electric versions, with a comfortable and tech-filled interior. Enjoy up to 248 miles (WLTP) of full electric range and charge up from 0-80% in around 30 minutes on a fast (100kW) charger.

  • Vauxhall Astra Electric: The classic Astra is reborn as an all-electric hatchback and sports tourer. There's also plenty of tech to make driving easier and more enjoyable.
