IT Lifecycle services expert Smart CT has won a major contract with a national retailer, which CEO Andy Morgan says is a significant milestone in the company’s growth plan.
The Reading company provides services to deploy, maintain, replace and repair business-critical IT infrastructure on behalf of IT suppliers who support an extensive range of organisations – from household brands to industrial businesses – in need of connected devices including networking, servers and other workplace technologies.
The retail contract for more than 30,000 devices across more than 500 UK stores involves ensuring networking routers, switches and access points remain operational to keep tills, servers and security cameras working.
“It’s a great win for us and further demonstrates our businesses scale in a critical sector,”
said Mr Morgan.
“I’m pleased because the retailer’s estate includes a large number of Cisco Meraki devices, as well as Cisco, HPE Aruba and Juniper. That gives us a much larger UK footprint of Meraki devices across the UK.”
He said the contract was won because the retailer was impressed by Smart CT’s consistently high scores in its Service Level Agreements and its plan to address its operational requirement with stringent cost control.
The retailer needed support with both brand new devices brought to support new store openings and refurbishments as well as devices that are close to or at the end of their supported life.
“We have more than 25,000 parts stored at locations across the UK and a network of 50 engineers so we are able to provide a four hour response so that the customer can be confident it has limited or no downtime,”
said Mr Morgan.
The retailer will also benefit from Smart CT’s sustainable asset disposal service, where engineers’ expertise ensures up to 80 per cent of failed devices can be fixed and reused. Even if they cannot be mended, subcomponents such as power cables will be utilised for future repairs.
A Smart CT team worked with the retailer to plan and deliver a smooth transition to the new service.
“We’re delighted that this retailer has recognised that our level of service, network of engineers and timely access to parts means it can rely on us to keep its business moving,”
said Mr Morgan.
“We have a bold plan to continue growing the business with the recent appointment of Sales and Marketing Director Nas Abrahams and Chief Financial Officer Allen Browning and successes like this give us the confidence to keep moving forward.”
